Prayer for Peace of Mind before Surgery - Seeking Calmness and Trust in God's Healing Hands

Heavenly Father,
I come before you humbly as I prepare for my upcoming surgery. Though I walk through this valley, I trust that you are with me, your rod and your staff they comfort me. Restore in me a sense of peace and remove any worries or fears that seek to enter my mind. Fill me instead with thoughts of your goodness, faithfulness, and promises of healing. Renew in me a spirit of trust in you - that you have numbered every hair on my head and called me by name from the moment of my conception. Though this surgery brings uncertainty, I know that you are unchanging, all-knowing, and all-powerful.

Lord, as I lie awake at night grappling with anxious thoughts, remind me of your nearness. Whisper comfort into my restless spirit and replace worry with thoughts of your glory. Hold my anxious hands and help me release anything that I cannot control into your capable hands. As I go through pre-operation tests and consultations, let your peace that surpasses all understanding fill my heart and mind. Surround me with your heavenly comfort and presence. Place a shield of protection around me - over my body, my thoughts, and my emotions. Fill me with courage for what lies ahead and faith in your promises of healing and restoration.

On the day of surgery, calm my nerves and breathe peace into my soul. Let your healing hands guide the surgeons and medical professionals, granting them wisdom, skill, and success in their work. When I wake from anesthesia and find myself weary, remind me that you are my strength and my redeemer. You heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds. As I rest in recovery, be near to me as I call on your name. Quiet any lingering concerns and continue to surround me with your peace. And when I return home, fill me with gratitude for your faithfulness, goodness, and mercy throughout this entire process. For all things, I give you thanks and praise you for hearing this prayer in Jesus' name, Amen.
