How to Know If You're Marrying the Right Person? | Prayer for Finding and Keeping the Right Spouse

Imagine you are standing at the altar, looking into the eyes of the person you are about to marry. You are filled with excitement, anticipation, and love. You are about to say “I do” to the most important decision of your life. But before you do, let me ask you a question: Do you know if this person loves God more than they love you? Because if they don’t, you might be making a big mistake.

Hello, friends. I’m so glad to have you with me today. I want to talk to you about something very important: finding the right spouse. You see, God has a perfect plan for your life, and He wants you to be happy and fulfilled. He wants you to have a partner who will support you, encourage you, and inspire you to become all that He created you to be.

But how do you find that person? How do you know who is the one for you? Well, let me tell you a secret: You have to find a spouse that loves God more than they love you. That’s right. You have to find someone who is more passionate about their relationship with God than their relationship with you. Why? Because once you find somebody that loves God more than they love you – they’re going to love you right!

You see, when someone loves God more than they love you, they have a higher standard of living. They have integrity, honesty, faithfulness, and generosity. They don’t cheat on you, lie to you, or hurt you. They respect you, honor you, and cherish you. They don’t take you for granted, but they appreciate you and celebrate you. They don’t try to change you, but they accept you and help you grow. They don’t hold grudges, but they forgive you and heal with you. They don’t compete with you, but they complement you and complete you.

When someone loves God more than they love you, they have a higher purpose in life. They are not selfish, but they are selfless. They are not greedy, but they are generous. They are not lazy, but they are diligent. They are not complacent, but they are passionate. They are not aimless, but they are focused. They are not living for themselves, but they are living for God and His glory.

When someone loves God more than they love you, they have a higher source of power. They are not weak, but they are strong. They are not fearful, but they are courageous. They are not anxious, but they are peaceful. They are not depressed, but they are joyful. They are not hopeless, but they are hopeful. They are not defeated, but they are victorious. They are not relying on their own strength, but they are relying on God’s grace.

Friends, I want to encourage you today: Don’t settle for less than God’s best for your life. Don’t settle for someone who doesn’t love God more than they love you. Don’t settle for someone who doesn’t treat you right, who doesn’t inspire you to grow, who doesn’t empower you to succeed. Don’t settle for someone who doesn’t make your life better, who doesn’t make your heart happier, who doesn’t make your soul brighter.

Instead, pray for someone who loves God more than they love you. Pray for someone who will love you right. Pray for someone who will be a blessing to your life and a partner in your destiny.

And when God brings that person into your life, don’t let them go. Hold on to them with all your heart and thank God for them every day.

Remember: You have to find a spouse that loves God more than they love you because once you find somebody that loves God more than they love you – they’re going to love you right!

Prayer for Finding and Keeping the Right Spouse

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your love and grace that You have shown us through Your Son Jesus Christ. We thank You for the gift of marriage and the blessing of having a spouse who loves You more than they love us. We ask You to help us find that person who will be our soulmate and our partner in fulfilling Your purpose for our lives. We ask You to guide us, protect us, and prepare us for that divine connection that You have ordained for us.

Lord, we also pray for those who are already married, that You would strengthen their bond and their commitment to each other. We pray that You would fill their hearts with love, joy, peace, and faithfulness. We pray that You would help them grow together in wisdom, understanding, and grace. We pray that You would bless them with harmony, unity, and intimacy. We pray that You would use them as a testimony of Your goodness and glory in this world.
