How Sex Can Ruin Your Life | Prayer for Restoration
How many of you have ever stayed in a relationship that you knew was not good for you? How many of you have ever let sex cloud your judgment and keep you from God’s best for your life? If that’s you, I have a message for you today: It’s time to let go and move on.
Sex is a gift from God, a beautiful expression of love and intimacy between a husband and a wife. But sex can also be a trap, a temptation, a distraction from God’s best for your life. Sex can make you stay in a relationship that is not healthy, not fulfilling, not honoring God. Sex can blind you to the truth, to the red flags, to the warning signs that this person is not the one God has for you.
I know some of you are in that situation right now. You’re with someone who doesn’t treat you right, who doesn’t respect you, who doesn’t share your faith, who doesn’t support your dreams. But you think, “I can’t let them go. I love them. We have such a connection. We have such chemistry.” But let me tell you something: chemistry is not compatibility. Connection is not commitment. And love is not lust.
You may think you’re in love, but you’re really in bondage. You’re addicted to something that is not good for you. You’re settling for less than God’s best for you. And the longer you stay in that relationship, the harder it will be to break free. You’re wasting your time, your energy, your emotions on someone who is not your destiny.
But I have good news for you today: God has a way out for you. God has a plan for your life. God has someone better for you. Someone who will love you the way you deserve to be loved. Someone who will honor you, cherish you, support you, encourage you. Someone who will help you grow in your faith, in your purpose, in your destiny.
But you have to make a decision today. You have to choose to let go of what is holding you back. You have to choose to walk away from what is not God’s will for your life. You have to choose to trust God with your future. You have to choose to obey God with your body.
Type AMEN if you choose God.
The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20: “Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
You are not your own; you were bought at a price. That price was the blood of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for your sins and rose again from the dead for your victory. He paid the ultimate price for your freedom, for your forgiveness, for your salvation. He loves you so much that he gave his life for you.
Don’t cheapen his sacrifice by giving yourself away to someone who doesn’t value you. Don’t dishonor his gift by staying in a relationship that doesn’t honor him. Don’t waste his grace by settling for less than his best for you.
You are valuable; you are precious; you are priceless in God’s eyes. You deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. You deserve to be loved with purity and faithfulness. You deserve to be happy and fulfilled in God’s plan for your life.
But it starts with you. It starts with making a change today. It starts with saying goodbye to what is behind and hello to what is ahead. It starts with letting go of what is wrong and holding on to what is right.
I want to pray with you right now. I want to ask God to give you the strength, the courage, the wisdom to make the right decision today. I want to ask God to heal your heart, to restore your soul, to renew your mind today. I want to ask God to open new doors for you, to bring new opportunities for you, to send new people into your life today.
Would you bow your heads with me?

Father, I ask you right now to touch their hearts and minds with your Holy Spirit. I ask you to give them the power and the grace to let go of any relationship that is not from you. I ask you to break every chain and every bond that is keeping them from moving forward in their destiny.
Father, I ask you to heal their wounds and their scars from the past. I ask you to fill them with your peace and your joy today. I ask you to renew their hope and their faith today.
Father, I ask you to open new doors of blessing and favor for them today. I ask you to bring new opportunities and new connections for them today. I ask you to send them the right person at the right time, someone who will love them the way you love them, someone who will help them fulfill your will for their lives.
Father, I thank you that you are working all things together for their good today. I thank you that you are making a way where there seems to be no way today. I thank you that you are doing a new thing in their lives today.

Father, I thank you that you are with them, that you are for them, that you are in them today. I thank you that no weapon formed against them shall prosper today. I thank you that nothing can separate them from your love today.
Father, I thank you that you have great things in store for them today. I thank you that you have a future and a hope for them today. I thank you that you have someone better for them today.
